Yeah! My Big Lebowski action figures were on my doorstep this evening when I got home. They’ve been on pre-order for over 6 months now. I ordered them from www.entertainmentearth.com. They were packed very caringly. Much kudos to EE.com! I’m sure I’ll be ordering from them again.
I’ve already been fooling with TiVoToGo on my Macbook Pro for about a week now. It’s pretty awesome. TiVoDecode Manager and tivodecode are easy to setup and use; definitely the way to go. You could also purchase Roxio Toast for $99 ($30 mail-in rebate right now). You do have to know how to compile software on a Mac which consists of downloading/unarchiving the tivodecode source code, installing Xcode, and running ./configure ; make ; sudo make install to install tivodecode. TiVoDecode manager is installed via the typical drag+drop into the Applications folder. I don’t own a second TiVo to take advantage of the Multi-Room Viewing, eh no biggie.
It seems as if we’ve been waiting a lot longer than a year for TiVo to add two of our favorite features to the Series3, and while complications with CableLabs haven’t exactly made the process possible before now, we’re elated that TiVoToGo and Multi-Room viewing are finally a reality.

What poor-sap homebody needs QVC in High-def? I mean, really. Why waste bandwidth for a shopping channel that doesn’t have to even be in HD? It’s nuts.
Because the world has gone far, far too long without a home shopping channel in high definition, Liberty Media announced QVCHD will launch in the first quarter of 2008. They anticipate the crisp quality of HDTV will get viewers calling, and with our addiction to anything broadcast in high res, we can’t argue the logic. No word on what carriers will feature the station yet, but with capacity already an issue for some, we don’t see viewers being happy if QVC HD’s commission-based sales hit their HDTV package and another channel doesn’t.

Around 1:40pm today, I got a message on my TiVo about new HD channels added to my Comcast lineup. While the message is old hat, it’s exciting news because it means that Comcast continues to work on adding new HD content here in podunk NIKNAR (Rankin) county.
Subject: A lineup change has occurred
From: The TiVo service
Date: Sat 11/10The TiVo service has detected a change in your cable lineup.
Added:
406 NFLHD
414 FOODHD
415 HGTVD
420 USAHD
421 TBSHD
423 CNNHDIf any channels have moved, the scheduled recordings on those channels have already been moved to the new channel for you. If any channels were removed, the scheduled recordings on those channels have been deleted.
If any channels have been added, the DVR assumes that you receive them unless they are premium channels. To modify which of these added channels you receive, select “Specify channels I receive”.

Now if Comcast will just get the newly announced Superstation WGN in HD, it will be great! Too bad Cubbies season is over for the year.

The White Stripes, who’ve been at home resting since the cancellation of a string of shows in September due to drummer Meg White’s bout with “acute anxiety,” have returned to the studio and are in the process of recording new material, according to the band’s website.
Meg’s partner and White Stripes frontman Jack White has assured fans that Meg is well on her way to making a full recovery, and that a return to the studio should help speed up the process even further.
According to a post on the group’s website, the band has recorded “three never-before-heard original songs (with a special collaboration) and one unique new version of a song from (new album) Icky Thump.”
Jack White also mentioned the band has filmed a new video for one of the new, original songs.—Gabriel J. Hernandez

I love the show Heroes, but I’m getting so tired of the Hiro in ancient Japan story. Get on with it already! Jeez!
