I lost my cell phone in a bar a few nights ago. I didn’t realize I had lost it until I had gotten home, and by that time it was too late to get back out to look for it. I called the bar the next day. No answer. I called later that day, and went back to look for it. My phone was nowhere to be found. Luckily, I had insurance on the phone, and I had my contacts backed up on a spare SIM card that I had. Getting a replacement phone via Cingular’s insurance was a no-brainer. The pain is in not having a cellphone for a couple of days while I had to wait for my replacement.
The replacement phone I was sent left much to be desired. I had a Nokia 6230 (a GREAT phone mind you). The customer service person tells me that my replacement will be a Nokia 6682 because the 6230 is no longer available. I didn’t know what I was in for when I agreed to this. The Nokia 6682 is a piece of crap. Number one, it’s HUGE compared to my 6230. Granted, it has a nice screen, the but overall size is way too big if you are used to carrying a phone the size of a mini candy bar in your pocket. Number two, it doesn’t give me the option of just using my SIM card for my contacts, so every time I want to add a contact, I have to choose my SIM card or the phone memory, then copy the contact from one medium to the other. That doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it kind of is to me. What the hell…
Well, since I’m now stuck with this 6682 (since I paid the $50, non-refundable deductable), I decided to jump on eBay, and buy a Nokia 6230 (new in box, unlocked) for $125. I’ll just keep the 6682 as a backup.
I’m just glad I’ll be getting my 6230 soon.
