Instead of giving out Gmail invites to individuals, I donated all my invites to isnoop.net gmail invite spooler.
From their website at time of writing:
Currently, we have 701,045 invites available to share. Thanks to the generosity of folks like you, we’ve distributed 673,361 invites since this page went up on Sep 13, 2004.
Gmail has recently more than doubled my storage capacity from 1GB to over 2GB (and still climbing). If it wouldn’t be such an administration nightmare, I would move all my users at work over to Gmail.
