Why is it always an ordeal to get anything done with Bellsouth?
I’ve been trying my damnedest to get Bellsouth to move two T1s from a riser closet in my New Orleans office buildling to my server room in my New Orleans office for two months now.
Bell says they put them in the riser closet b/c there wasn’t a backboard or any electrical grounds in the server room (which is more like a broom closet :). Then I get a call from our building mangement folks in New Orleans saying that Bellsouth cannot keep the smartjack in that room and that it needs to be moved. We call Bellsouth to move it, their suggestion is to just extend it from the smartjack in the riser closet to the server room. Building management says that’s no good. Bellsouth then comes back and says they won’t move it now.
Argh! So now I’m going to have to get conduit, electrical ground and a backboard installed in my server room, then literally beg Bellsouth to come back and move the smartjack so I can put my router in.
